Muskegon, Michigan (WOOD) —Republican US Rep. Bill Huizenga has submitted a bill he believes will “reduce the number of uninsured people through hospital-led community-based compensation options.”

Huizenga is pushing for new medical practices based on what he calls a “successful program” in Muskegon County.

Access: Health It acts as a multi-share program that distributes healthcare costs among individuals, employers and healthcare providers.

Huizenga said he hopes to turn three shares into four by convening the federal government to cover some of the costs.

The bill introduced by lawmakers is a four-year pilot program. Three to five sites across the country have partnered with the federal government to distribute costs among the four parties.

He believes this is an “innovative way to tackle real problems”: who should provide health care, who is covered and what is covered.

“I think this is actually a great approach because it allows us to incorporate our skin into the games of all participants, including healthcare providers, targeted individuals, sponsoring organizations, and the federal government. Saving money. I know, but more importantly, to provide care, “Huizenga said.

He had previously introduced this bill and decided to reintroduce it in the hope of gaining more traction.
