Casper, Wyoming-Casper-Natrona County Health Department inspects the operations of restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, mobile food units, commissionaries, and food vending machines. All facilities have unannounced inspections at least twice a year.
According to the agency, “There are three types of violations: priority, priority base, and core.”
While the Ministry of Health is looking for flaws, the organization’s main goal is to educate businesses and help them understand unsafe practices and how to fix them.
“There are no passing or failing sliding scales or health tests,” said Ruth Heeld, Program Manager for Environmental Health in Natrona County. She says all violations will be fixed immediately or within 10 days. That is, the breach does not endanger your business.
If a re-examination is needed, the problem may be more serious or the facility may have taken more time to fix it. It takes 10 days to solve the problem, and according to Held, most facilities can easily meet the requirements.
